National Travel Writing Month

I’m sure some of you have heard about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) which takes place every November. I attempted it once a few years ago, but at this point in my life writing a novel isn’t a high priority item for me–I’d rather become published as a travel writer. Christine Gilbert of almostfearless.com is the creator of the rather brilliant NaTraWriMo (National Travel Writing Month) which is slated to take place bi-annually.

The challenge for April 2009 is to write and submit 30 query letters to publishers in effort to get your writing published as an article in a magazine or as part of a book. April is bound to be a hectic month for me because I will be wrapping up the semester with final papers and projects as well as working part-time and cramming in a little 21st birthday celebration, but I’m determined to do it and I invite you to join in on the fun or come cheer us on!
